WOS first partnered with Collin College in July 2013 to launch a new veterans training program in the Dallas area. In its inaugural program, which spanned approximately nine months, Collin and WOS have trained 14 veterans for information security roles at HP. The veterans received intensive training in information security, as well as mentoring and corporate communication skills. Upon completion of the academic program, the veterans earned a certificate from the college and three professional certifications: CCNA, Network+, and Security+.
Collin College has continued to provide training for WOS through an eight-week program held in Dallas with some students attending classes remotely. The five high potential young adults in this program received training in SharePoint, Office 365 support, introduction to SQL, C#, customer service, mentoring, and corporate communications. In 2018 – 2019, Collin College provided six months of training for 12 veterans in Mainframe, COBOL, mentoring, and corporate communications. The intense training prepared the veterans for roles at the Automobile Club of Southern California in the Dallas area.
