WOS Mid-Career Advancement Services
For more than 15 years, Workforce Opportunity Services (WOS) has initiated the careers of more than 6,000 individuals from traditionally overlooked communities through workshops, professional development, mentoring, training and employment. Part of WOS’ ongoing commitment to close the socio-economic gender gap is to support mid-career female and minority professionals, who are at a critical junction in their careers and need help to develop a strategy for career progression.
Women are falling behind early in their careers. If first-level women managers were hired and promoted like men, there would be 1 million more women in management over the next five years.

WOS has formed an Industry Advisory Board in conjunction with many of its corporate clients. These advisors, along with industry leaders, work with WOS and our chairman and founder Dr. Art Langer, on a number of initiatives, and will help launch this important service, offering ongoing professional development services to both members and organizations that are serious about making the workplace more diverse and inclusive.
Additionally, WOS has partnered with Teachers College, Columbia University to offer a newly developed credit-bearing advanced certificate program in Workforce Education & Development that is based on Dr. Langer’s research design. This program is geared towards HR/DEI and talent acquisition professionals but is also a much-needed resource for leadership across the board interested in expanding their diversity and inclusion efforts within their organizations.
